KAPISTREL features some of the unknown Caribbean literature that cannot be marketed or overly mediatized.

KAPISTREL also features research projects on Creole patrimony, the inheritance that was passed on to us by the preceeding generations.

KAPISTREL wants to introduce publishing to people interested in printing their work but have limited resources to do so. Publishing can be a difficult experience especially the distribution and diffusion of  miscellaneous materials.

KAPISTREL uses the Internet, which is a simple and efficient tool.

^{Some want to know Creole because they have parents who speak it.}

^{Unfortunately, these same parents cannot transmit their knowledge of Creole. Some like Jeff have heard this language and have remembered a few sentences that sound good to the ear, and they would like to know more.}

^{This publication is meant to answer various needs that we are trying to fulfil in conversational situations.}

^{We depend strongly on your kind participation to bring to our attention all the elements that we could have overlooked.}

^{We are including several sentences, creole expressions and their meaning in French. Some material is in English and Spanish. Creole proverbs are so numerous that we could not present them all on this site.}

^{This is the reason why we favored some proverbs being told everyday over the world over  less known others . We also chose to give only one interpretation of the proverb, the one we appreciate the most.}

^{On this page, we will present a spreadsheet with a list of 34 sounds used in Creole. This spreadsheet is based on a "phonological system" where each sound is represented by a sign and always the same. Concerning the term “phonological system”, we will have a summary of the phonology and phonetic of words.}

^{In fact, phonology is a part of phonetic, which is meant to study the phonemes of a language, and the study of sounds made by the voice and their functions in a language. Phonetic is a part of the science of  linguistic, which studies languages or graphic signs like writing that corresponds to the sounds of a language.}

 ^{How can you best use this page?}

^{In this publication, we will submit in one section a list of different sounds used in Creole. Some words in English and French will define the meaning of these sounds.}

^{In another section, we will present some last names and first names used frequently in families and a few sentences using the sound being studied. For example, the first sound used in the study is “b”. We chose the last names and first names: Béro, Obi, Blèz, Izabèl, Oben, Bèna, Béranj, Jilbè, Alban, Bèbèr. For Creole sounds starting with “b”, we chose the word “Boug” meaning man, and the word “Tab” meaning table.}
